Curriculum Innovation
Curriculum Innovation Awards provide a £500 personal honorarium to encourage teachers to adapt the design and delivery of a module in ways that are consistent with SCEPTrE’s educational goals and University Learning and Teaching Strategy priorities.
In 2008/09 the focus for curriculum innovation was the adaptation of modules to make them more enquiry-rich learning experiences for students.
In 2009/10 the focus is on encouraging greater engagement with the idea of ‘work integrated’ and ‘experiential’ learning and encouraging the further development of modules that seek to combine and integrate learning from academic, work and other real world contexts.
We are keen to promote a partnership model and it is expected that the award holder will develop, evaluate and disseminate the results of their work in collaboration with SCEPTrE and the Centre for Educational and Academic Development.
We anticipate being able to make up to 20 awards in 2009/10. The intention is to work strategically with Faculty Associate Deans Learning and Teaching but independent submissions from teachers are also welcome.
